LangGame: Learn English Through Games – Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how data is processed in the LangGame: Learn English Through Games mobile application (the "App") developed by Algoritim Bilişim ("Algoritim", "we"). The App is published on Android (package name: com.algoritimbilisim.langgame) and iOS under the same identity. By using the App, you acknowledge the processing described in this policy, including international transfers and SDK technologies.
Definition: "Your device" means the phone or tablet on which you install the App.
1. Summary: What We Collect and What We Don't
- The App has no account system. There is no Google/Apple sign-in, email registration or similar membership; we do not collect email addresses, phone numbers or real names.
- There is no cloud synchronization. Your game progress is stored only on your device and never reaches our servers — we do not operate any data servers of our own.
- Two third-party Google services run in the App: Google AdMob for ads and Google Analytics for Firebase for users aged 13 and over only. What each service collects is detailed below.
- We never sell your data under any circumstances.
2. Data Stored on Your Device (Never Sent to a Server)
The following data is kept only in your device's local storage and cannot be read by us or by any server:
- Birth year: the 4-digit year you enter in the age gate at launch; used only for age verification and to select age-appropriate ad/analytics settings.
- Username: used only to address you inside the App; it does not need to be your real name.
- Game data: lesson progress, points, badges, mascot collection and similar in-game state.
- Settings: sound, effects and similar preferences.
This data is permanently deleted when you uninstall the App or use the in-app reset function. The in-app “Reset Progress” action only deletes data on your device; there is no account to delete. For data already sent to Google (AdMob/Analytics), Google's own deletion and retention policies apply (see Section 8).
3. Age Gate
When the App launches, the user is asked for their birth year. No ad request is sent before the age question is answered. Your answer is stored only on your device and determines your ad and analytics behavior. You can change your age later; the relevant ad and analytics settings are then updated automatically (analytics is disabled and the analytics identifier is reset if the age moves below 13).
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App uses Google AdMob, provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. Ad behavior differs by age:
4.1. Users under 13
- Ad requests are flagged to Google as child-directed / under age of consent (TFCD/TFUA tags).
- Only "G"-rated (general audience) ads are served.
- No advertising identifier is sent (Android advertising ID, iOS IDFA).
- No personalized (behavioral/targeted) ads are shown.
4.2. Users aged 13 and over
- Personalized ads may be shown; for this purpose an advertising identifier (Android advertising ID; IDFA on iOS) may be used.
- On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission is requested before any use of the advertising identifier; if you decline, IDFA is never used and ads are served without it.
4.3. Data processed by AdMob (Google's disclosure)
According to Google, ad requests process: IP address (and the approximate location derived from it), in-app interactions, app performance/diagnostic data, and device/ad identifiers (advertising ID, app set ID). This data is used for ad serving, measurement/analytics and fraud prevention, and is transmitted over TLS. Details: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
4.4. Rewarded ads
Rewarded ads start only upon your explicit request: if you choose to watch one, you earn an in-game reward. Rewarded ads never play on their own.
5. Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
- Analytics is completely disabled for users under 13 and for users whose age is unknown; no analytics data is sent from such users.
- For users aged 13 and over, only de-identified usage events are logged: lesson start/completion, mini-game usage, reward unlocks and similar aggregate events.
- No advertising identifier, IDFA or IDFV is sent with these events.
- Google Signals is off; detailed location and device reporting is off; ad personalization is off and there is no Google Ads linking.
- Analytics uses Google's generated app instance identifier (Firebase installation ID); this identifier links you to Google, not to us as the developer, and can be reset by you.
- If you change your age to under 13, analytics is disabled and the analytics identifier on the device is reset.
- Analytics data retention follows Google's defaults: Firebase Analytics data retention.
6. Who We Share Data With (Sub-processors)
We operate no servers. Data is shared only with the following service providers, for the stated purposes:
| Provider | Purpose | Data Processed |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited (AdMob) | Ad serving, measurement, fraud prevention | IP address (approximate location), app interactions, performance/diagnostic data, device and ad identifiers (identifier-free, tagged requests for under-13 users) |
| Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited (Firebase – Google Analytics) | De-identified usage analytics (13+ only) | Usage events, Firebase app instance ID, coarse approximate location (restricted, IP-derived) |
Your data is never sold, rented or shared with any third party beyond the services above. If legally required, information may be provided only to competent public authorities within the scope of the request.
7. International Transfers
Because the Google services above are used, data processing is performed directly from your device to Google's servers (in the United States and other countries). These transfers rely on the privacy safeguards Google applies to users worldwide (Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions and Google's global privacy program binding its group companies) and, where required, on consent/preferences expressed in the context of this policy, in line with Article 9 of the Turkish Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and Articles 44–49 of the GDPR. Google's global privacy commitments: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks.
8. Retention Periods
- Data on your device: kept until you uninstall the App or reset it in-app; permanently deleted by those actions.
- AdMob data: subject to Google's retention periods: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Firebase Analytics data: default event retention: https://support.google.com/firebase/answer/6318710
9. Children's Privacy (COPPA) — A Note for Parents
LangGame serves a mixed audience including children aged 6 and up, and is designed to comply with the Google Play Families policy and the Teacher Approved program. Our commitments regarding children under 13 (COPPA):
- We do not collect personal information from children: no names, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, precise location or persistent device identifiers are collected. All data, including the username and birth year, stays on the device and never reaches us.
- Ads run in a child-safe mode: no ad is requested before the age question is answered; for under-13 users no advertising identifier is sent, personalization is off, and only "G"-rated ads are shown.
- Analytics is fully disabled for children.
- Rewarded ads can only be started by the child's own choice.
Your rights as a parent: because no data about your child reaches us beyond what is stored (and deletable) on the device, upon request we will explain how the App processes data and, if any limited data about your child has nevertheless reached us, we will review and delete it. We respond to parental requests within 30 days at the latest. On-device control: uninstalling the App permanently removes all local data.
To contact us as a parent, please write directly to the e-mail address below (see Contact). Including the App version and device type speeds up processing.
10. Information Under Turkish Data Protection Law (KVKK)
10.1. Data Controller

10.2. Data, Purposes and Legal Bases
- On-device data (birth year, username, progress, settings): never processed by us; stored only on your device, so no legal basis on our side applies.
- Ad data (processed by Google via AdMob): for ad serving — for users 13+ based on explicit consent/service delivery; for under-13 users identifier-free and restricted.
- Analytics data (Firebase): for improving the service and measuring quality, only for users 13+, on an explicit-consent based preference mechanism.
10.3. Transfers
Data is transferred to Google as a service provider in the manner and limits described in Section 7. No data is sold.
10.4. Your Rights under Article 11 of KVKK and How to Apply
Under Article 11 of Law No. 6698 you have the right to: learn whether your personal data is processed; request information; learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly; know the third parties to whom data is transferred domestically or abroad; request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data; request erasure/destruction within the grounds of Article 7; request that these operations be notified to the third parties data was transferred to; object to results arising through automated systems; and claim compensation for damages caused by unlawful processing. The risk arising from these systems is minimal: you can delete all data on your device at any time by uninstalling or resetting the App.
Submit your applications to our e-mail address; requests are free of charge and answered as soon as possible and no later than 30 days (Article 13). If you receive no result, you may file a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (www.kvkk.gov.tr).
11. GDPR and Rights of Other Users
For users in the EU/EEA, the GDPR counterparts are: the controller is Algoritim Bilişim; personalized ads and analytics rely on consent under Article 6(1)(a), which you may withdraw at any time through the methods in Section 12. The digital age of consent for children varies between 13 and 16 across member states; the App's age gate respects this distinction. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (Articles 15–22) via e-mail. Complaint rights: the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority in Türkiye; the data protection authority of your member state of residence in the EU.
12. Your Choices
- Android — advertising ID: reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in device settings: Settings › Google › Ads › "Delete advertising ID" / "Reset advertising ID".
- iOS — tracking permission (ATT): the App asks for permission; if you choose "Ask App Not to Track", IDFA is never used. You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Turning analytics off: setting your age to under 13 in the App disables analytics completely and resets your analytics identifier. (You can also use the analytics preference in the App settings, where available.)
- All local data: uninstalling the App or using the in-app reset permanently removes all data on your device.
- Google settings: manage ad preferences at myadcenter.google.com and adssettings.google.com, and privacy settings at myaccount.google.com.
13. Permissions and Security
- The App uses only the Internet access permission for its core functions; it does not access location, camera, microphone or contacts.
- All third-party data flows (ads and analytics) are encrypted with TLS; data on your device is kept in the device's protected local storage.
- Since there is no account system, no passwords or credentials are stored, and there is no session risk on shared devices.
14. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Important changes (for example, if an account system, cloud sync or a new SDK is added in the future) are published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date and announced via in-app notices and/or store listings. If accounts, cloud synchronization or any new data-processing feature is added, this policy will be updated beforehand.
